Anna Higgins’ expanded image-based practice incorporates found archival and contemporary material as well as her own photography, which is abstracted and re-contextualized through collage, painting, drawing, and film photography to form new perspectives and poetic interpretations.
Anna completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Honours) at the Victorian College of the Arts (2013) and graduated from the Royal Academy Schools, London post-graduate program (2023). Anna was the winner of the Bowness Photography Prize in 2026, was the 2021 artist in residence at the Australian Archaeological Institute in Athens, and is co-director of Mackintosh Lane, London. Her work is in the public collections of the National Gallery of Victoria, the Museum of Australian Photography, and the Australian National University Collection and private collections in Australia, United Kingdom, United States of America and Europe.
